Water is the medium for every digestive process. We look at the spiritual and physical necessity of staying hydrated for optimal gut health.
The Living Water
Every process in the gut, from the production of enzymes to the motility of the intestinal tract, requires water. Dehydration is a common, silent cause of digestive sluggishness. Physically, we are largely composed of water; spiritually, we are designed to thirst for the Living Water. When we neglect our hydration, our digestion slows down, leading to a backup in the system.
Digestion and Flow
Proper hydration ensures that fiber can do its job, moving waste through the system effectively. Without sufficient water, fiber can cause more harm than good, leading to bloating and discomfort. By keeping our physical vessels hydrated, we maintain the flow and functionality that the Lord intended for our bodies.
Practical Application
Start your morning with a large glass of water before reaching for coffee. Thank God for the gift of water and the life it sustains within you.
Reflective Takeaway: Water is the foundation of flow; I will honor my physical body by staying refreshed and hydrated.
