Seasonal Reflection Companion

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens." — Ecclesiastes 3:1

A guide for reflecting on the seasons of life — noticing where God has been, where He is now, and where He is leading.

Companion for the Journey

Life moves in seasons — not just the seasons of the calendar, but the seasons of the soul. There are seasons of planting and seasons of harvest, seasons of waiting and seasons of receiving, seasons of loss and seasons of new life. This Seasonal Reflection Companion is a guide for pausing at the threshold of a new season to notice where God has been, where He is now, and where He may be leading.

The Scriptural Foundation

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot." — Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end." — Ecclesiastes 3:11

How to Use This Companion

Print this page at the beginning of a new season — whether a calendar season (spring, summer, fall, winter) or a life season (a new job, a move, a loss, a transition). Sit with God and move through the sections below. This is not a productivity tool; it is a companion for the soul.

A Word for the Practice

The writer of Ecclesiastes reminds us that God has "made everything beautiful in its time." Not everything is beautiful in every season — but there is beauty to be found in each one, if we have eyes to see it. This practice of seasonal reflection trains those eyes.

Some seasons are for planting and some are for harvest. Some are for weeping and some are for laughter. The gift is not in choosing our season but in being present to God within it — trusting that the One who holds the seasons also holds us.

Print this companion at the start of each new season. Keep your completed pages together — a living record of God's faithfulness across the seasons of your life. When you face a difficult season, return to these pages and remember: He has been faithful before, and He will be faithful again.

A Prayer for the Journey

Lord, thank You for the seasons of life — for the planting and the harvest, the weeping and the laughter, the endings and the beginnings. Help me to be present in each season, to find You in it, and to trust that You are making all things beautiful in their time. When I cannot see what You are doing, help me to trust who You are. Amen.
