A gentle guide for preparing and entering a day of rest — because Sabbath doesn't happen by accident; it happens by intention.
Companion for the Journey
Sabbath is a gift — but in a world that never stops, it is a gift that must be intentionally received. This Sabbath Rest Planner helps you prepare your heart, your home, and your schedule so that when the day of rest arrives, you are ready to enter it fully.
The Scriptural Foundation
"There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his." — Hebrews 4:9-10
"Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy." — Exodus 20:8
How to Use This Companion
Print this page each week. Use it in the days before your Sabbath (whether Friday evening, Saturday, or Sunday) to prepare. Then, on the day itself, let the planning fall away and simply rest.
Sabbath is not about rules. It is about release.

A Word for the Practice
The Sabbath was made for us, not us for the Sabbath (Mark 2:27). This means your day of rest should bring life, not burden. If a full day feels impossible, begin with an afternoon. If certain practices feel like work, set them aside. The goal is not a perfect Sabbath but a real one — a real pause, a real release, a real resting in God's finished work.
Over time, you will find that Sabbath becomes the rhythm around which your week is organized — the day the whole week leans toward.
Print this planner and use it each week. Let it become a familiar ritual of preparation — the doorway through which you walk into rest.
A Prayer for the Journey
Lord, thank You for the gift of Sabbath — for the command to rest, the invitation to release, and the freedom to simply be. Help me to prepare well, so that when the day comes, I can enter it fully. Teach me to rest in You, not just on this day, but every day. Amen.
