A printable morning prayer framework to begin each day in His presence — with scripture, surrender, and supplication.
Companion for the Journey
Before the day reaches in with its demands, the morning offers a sacred threshold — a quiet space to orient the heart toward the One who made it. This Morning Prayer Journal Page is designed to be printed, kept by your bed or prayer chair, and used each morning as a framework for beginning the day in His presence.
The Scriptural Foundation
"Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life." — Psalm 143:8
"In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly." — Psalm 5:3
How to Use This Companion
Print this page and keep it with your journal and Bible. Each morning, before reaching for your phone or opening your email, sit quietly and move through the four movements below. You do not need to fill every line — let the Spirit guide you.
This is not a checklist. It is an invitation.
The Morning Framework
I. Adoration — Who God Is
Begin by simply beholding God. Before you ask anything, acknowledge who He is.
Today, I praise You for:
Scripture for the morning:
II. Confession — Clearing the Heart
Name anything that stands between you and God. Lay it down.
Father, I bring before You:
I receive Your forgiveness and rest in Your grace (1 John 1:9).
III. Thanksgiving — Gratitude Before Requests
Enter His gates with thanksgiving (Psalm 100:4). Begin your petitions with praise.
Today, I am grateful for:
IV. Supplication — Lifting Your Day
Now bring your requests. Begin with others, then yourself.
For others I pray:
For myself today, I ask:
V. Surrender — The Day Is Yours
Lord, I surrender this day to You. Guide my steps, guard my words, and let Your love be the atmosphere of my hours. Whatever comes, I trust that You are with me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
A Word for the Practice
The goal of a morning prayer routine is not perfection but presence. Some mornings you will pray through every section; other mornings, a single whispered verse will be enough. God receives both.
Print this page and keep it with your journal. Make it yours — underline, doodle, press a flower between the pages. Let it become a familiar companion that meets you in the quiet.
A Prayer for the Journey
Lord, thank You for mornings — for the mercy of new beginnings. Help me to bring the first of my day to You, not as a duty but as a delight. May these quiet moments shape the hours that follow, and may I walk through this day aware of Your presence. Amen.
